Key To The Understanding
of The Scriptures
"This series of studies is designed to present in connected form
the fundamental teaching of the Bible. The reader is invited to examine
it critically, with the Bible at his right hand, without which nothing
can or ought to be determined in relation to God's truth. We believe
this series to help the reader in their search for Truth."

The Truth About God And
The Bible
"No subject comes near this in the immensity of the issues involved.
The conclusion we may come to is very practical in its influence, whether
we consider the principles on which we regulate our present lives, or
the hopes and cravings with which we instinctively contemplate the limitless
future of time. Other themes exhaust themselves
in the short life we now live, beginning in the feebleness of the cradle
and ending in the decay of all our powers, and our inevitable disappearance
in the silence and oblivion of the grave. This goes forward and links
itself with the universe and the everlasting.

Rediscovery

in Christ

The Protesters
"Today the Christadelphian community --"Brothers in Christ"
-- is the inheritor of a noble tradition, by which elements of the Truth
were from century to century hammered out on the anvil of controversy,
affliction and even anguish. These pages may help us to appreciate a
Bible doctrine that God does not establish truth by the counting of
heads, but by the trying of hearts, and also to understand why we as
Christadelphians today resist the outstretched hands of broad oecumenical
unity, and consider as traitors any among us who sell their birthright
for this cause."

Christadelphianism
of God or Men? A Reply to the Aug. 1962 Watchtower Article
"The examinations contained here appeal to only one criteria
of Truth, the authority of the "Law and the Testimony" (Isa.
8:20). Christadelphians cannot share the half allegiance given to the
Scriptures by nearly all of Christendom."

Questions
and Answers
Christendom
Astray from the Bible
"THAT CHRISTENDOM is astray from the system of doctrine and
practice established by the labours of the apostles in the first century,
is recognised by men of very different ways of thinking. The unbeliever
asserts it without fear. The church partisan admits it without shame,
and all sorts of middle men are of opinion that it would be a misfortune
were it otherwise. The unbeliever, while himself rejoicing in the fact,
uses it as a reproach to those who profess to follow the apostles whom
he openly rejects, the churchman, while owning the apostles as the foundation,
regards it as the inevitable result of the spiritual prerogative vested
in "the church," that there should be further unfoldings of
light and truth leading away from the primitive form of things; and
the moderate and indifferent class accept it as a necessary and welcome
result of the advance of the times, with which they think the original
apostolic institution has become inconsistent."

Wrested
Scriptures
There "are some things hard to be understood, which they that
are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures,
unto their own destruction." (2 Peter 3:16). As believers in the
Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God it becomes our duty to search
out the scriptures (Acts 17:11) and "try the spirits" (1 John
4:1), to preach the truth and defend the faith (Jude 3).

Sacrifice
of Christ
Blood
of Christ: It's Place in the
Divine Scheme of Reconciliation or Atonement, as originally promulgated
by the Apostles in the First Century.
"There is no operation
of Divine wisdom that has been so completely misapprehended and misrepresented
as the shedding of the blood of Christ. Popular preaching brings it
down to a level with the sacrifices of idolatrous superstition, by which
wrathful deities are supposed to be placated by the blood of a substitutionary
victim. Christ is represented as having paid our debts -- as having
died instead of us -- as having stood in our room like a substitute
in military service, or like a man rushing to the scaffold where a criminal
is about to be executed, and offering to die instead of him (a favourite
illustration in the evangelical pulpit)..."
